Dev Ops Engineer (m/f)

The Job

In this position you will set up and maintain the technical environment of our digital products and services. You will collaborate with the IT department (RUN) to deploy and operate our systems, help automate and streamline our operations and processes, build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations and troubleshoot and resolve issues in all our environments.

Your main responsibilities

  • Receive code/source in Jenkins 
  • Monitoring Jenkins packaging for automated container deployment
  • Change Management (for all stages), database deployment as well as uploads to app stores.Coordination with test manager and product owner
  • Coordination of acceptance 
  • Release Management
  • Version Management
  • Configuration Management as well as documentation tasks
  • Virtualization of test environments as well as temporary provisioning of such
  • Licecycle Management of apps in regards to app stores
  • Incident and Problem Management support (as a platform owner)
  • Comissioning, provisioning as well a charging (for all digital products & solutions)
  • Lessons learned after each release and sprint as well as Continual Service Improvements
  • Delivery of input for Capacity, Availability and IT Service Continuity Management
  • Delivering input for SLA Management (reports, improvements,..)
  • Suggesting architecture improvements, recommending process improvements 
  • Evaluate new technology options and vendor products 

Your qualification

  • Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with RedHat OpenShift or Docker is a plus)
  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
  • DevOps: Solid experience as a DevOps Engineer in a 24x7 uptime environment, including automation experience with configuration management tools 
  • Scripting Skills: Strong scripting (e.g. Python) and automation skills 
  • Operating Systems: Windows and Linux system administration 
  • Monitoring Tools: Experience with system monitoring tools (e.g. Nagios). 
  • Problem Solving: Ability to analyze and resolve complex infrastructure resource and application deployment issues 
  • OO Programming Skills: Good OO Programming skills (Java) 
  • DB Skills: Basic DB administration experience (MS-SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) 
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience with Agile software development (Scrum)
  • Version Control: Experience administrating version control systems such as BitBucket, GIT, SVN 
  • Networking: Understanding network topologies and common network protocols and services (DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, SMTP) 
  • Educational Requirements:  B.Sc. in Computer Science or other equivalent technical discipline 
  • Other Candidate Requirements:

Annual minimum wage according to collective agreement: EUR 35.000 gross. We are prepared to exceed depending on qualification and experience.
