UNIQA Previdenza was founded in 1988 and offers both classic and – in particularly high demand in Italy – index and unit-linked life insurance. UNIQA Previdenza uses more than 220 branches of the Veneto Banca Group's banks(Veneto Banca, Banca Bergamo, Banca del Gardaand Banca Meridiana) as sales channels, as well as agents dealing both with various companies and exclusively, and also brokers. In 2004 UNIQA acquired 80% of the share capital of UNIQA Previdenza. The remaining 20% of UNIQA Previdenza's share capital remained in the possession of the previous sole owner, Veneto Banca, whose banks will also represent an essential sales channel for the products of UNIQA Previdenza in the future.
