UNIQA Protezione S.p.A was founded in 1920 with the name "Carnica Assicurazioni S.p.A" and has been a company of UNIQA Group Austria since the year 2000. The main lines of business are motor, casualty, fire and third party insurance, which are sold through more then 170  agencies in northern and middle Italy. In addition two standardised products have been sold by the branches of the Veneto Banca since the beginning of 2005.
