UNIQA Group Austria

Since the beginning of 2002 Karl Unger is a member of the management board of UNIQA Versicherungen AG and responsible for the areas information technology, company organization, company actuaries, customer service and risk management. In addition to these activities, Karl Unger is also a member of the management board of the Raiffeisen Versicherung AG and the FinanceLife Lebensversicherung AG.

In the time from january 2002 until november 2003 Karl Unger was a member of the management board of UNIQA Personenversicherung AG and head of the competence centre for life and casualty insurance. During this period Unger was also on the management board of CALL DIRECT Versicherug AG.

In the spring of 2001, the learned actuary resigned all his supervisory board functions at the AXA Group and moved to UNIQA as head of the corporate planning unit. In 2000, Unger withdrew from all operative management board functions of the Nordstern-Versicherung and became independent. In 1999, Unger took over the Central European responsibility for the areas of company organisation, IT, accounting and insurance technical controlling (actuarial).

In 1994, Karl Unger was appointed to the management board of the Nordstern-Versicherung and took on the additional activities of the life insurance department. Simultaneously he took on various supervisory board functions within the AXA-Group Central Europe. Since 1991, after one year as general secretary and actuary of the Nordstern-Versicherung, he headed up the areas of company organisation, IT and accounting.
In 1983, Karl Unger took over the Group leadership for company organisation after he changed to the company organisation and data processing department at the Nordstern-Versicherung. After completing his actuarial studies, Unger started in 1979 as actuary at the Volksfürsorge Versicherung. Karl Unger’s career began in 1973 at the Raiffeisen-Zentralkasse, Lower Austria-Vienna.

Karl Unger, born in 1953, is married with two children. He relaxes through his family and skiing.
