Forward looking Bundesländer participation certificate holders are already becoming owners of UNIQA ordinary shares

Restructuring
In November 1999 there will be a restructuring of Austria’s leading insurance group: the Bundesländer-Versicherung will merge with its current parent company, BARC Versicherungs-Holding AG, to become a new group, UNIQA Versicherungen AG.

The operative business of the Group, to which belong the Austria-Collegialität Group, Raiffeisen-Versicherung and the Salzburger Landes-Versicherung, among others, will be re-ordered, tautened and brought further in line with market needs.

Conversion to ordinary shares
This  will present a great opportunity to owners of participation certificates  Until 22nd October they have the right to swap their participation certificates for ordinary shares in UNIQA. With a seat and a vote in the General Meeting they will then have a say in the future of one of the major finance service providers in Central Europe. And they will profit from the greater liquidity of the ordinary shares. Internationally accepted securities. From November on, UNIQA ordinary shares will be listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange. It will build on this position when, as planned, in the year 2000 the listing will be extended to the entire share capital of the Company.
