UNIQA sponsoring allows innovative productions and opens new perspectives Central and Eastern Europe as future markets for UNIQA and the Salzburg Festival As of this year UNIQA has signed a three year contract as main sponsor of the Salzburg Festival. This commitment is the continuation of a sponsoring strategy aimed at promoting music within cultural events of highest international level. UNIQA’s contribution will enable the promotion of innovative productions. As Dr,Konstantin Klien, CEO of UNIQA, declared:” Our decision to support the Salzburg Festival was led by the intention to become an active partner. We can reach this objective by sponsoring innovative productions not covered by the current festival budget. We furthermore help the Salzburg Festival by addressing a new public in Central and Eastern Europe, a region where UNIQA has already been active for many years. Of course we use our existing contacts and business relations to the festival’s benefit.”In autumn the Salzburg Festival and UNIQA will launch a common “Charm and Culture Offensive” in the neighbouring eastern states as well as in northern Italy. “Both brands, UNIQA and Salzburg Festival, are an ideal combination: the festival has offered for many decades the highest cultural standards and UNIQA’s contribution in this partnership consists in providing excellent contacts and a long experience in these markets. The linking element is quality, the highest quality in products and performances is our common objective. With the help of UNIQA the quality product Salzburg Festival should also become a reference in all the countries where we are not as well known” added the President of the Festival, Dr.Helga Rabl-Stadler. She expressed her satisfaction about the excellent cooperation with UNIQA as new sponsor and wants to open the Festival to a larger and younger public. This summer UNIQA’s innovative contribution will be the “UNIQA College for Journalists”, a practical college for journalists from Central and Eastern European countries sponsored and initiated by UNIQA. “This College for young journalists will attract a larger and culturally interested public from Central and Eastern Europe, a very interesting target group for us as we want to enlarge step by step our youth programme” added Rabl-Stadler.26.
