Top of the league for home insurance are those living in Upper Austria. They spend  EUR 29,80 per month on home insurance. Just behind them comes the population of Vorarlberg with EUR 27,62, then Lower Austria, Burgenland and Styria, each with EUR 26,89. Carinthia comes in the middle range with monthly expenditure of EUR 21,80, closely followed by Salzburg with EUR 21,08. Bringing up the rear are Tyrol with EUR 13,81 per month, and Vienna with EUR 11,63.

An innovative all risk product from UNIQA
UNIQA is one of the leading home insurers, with 370.000 insured Austrian homes, and is the only insurance company in Austria to offer a special form of complete home insurance. The all risk insurance covers with only few exceptions all risks in the private home. It could be a hole burnt in the carpet, a broken candelabra, knocked down by junior from the ceiling with his tennis racket. There are only a few exclusions, such as damage from war or pests.

“The theme of security is increasing in importance in the area of home insurance. People need global cover. Despite increasing security consciousness, some 95% of insurers do without preventive measures such as adding a safety door or an alarm system. But such preventive measures would not only increase safety, but allow a reduction in the insurance premium,” emphasises Dr. Johannes Hajek, the responsible member of the Management Board of UNIQA Sachversicherung AG.
