UNIQA Group Austria has been active on the Serbian market since the end of 2006, following the acquisition of 80% of Zepter osiguranje. UNIQA osiguranje now operates 58 branches across Serbia and employs 550 people. The 2007 financial year was extremely successful, with a preliminary growth in premiums of over 50% to €20.4 million. This growth represents exceptional dynamism when compared to the rest of the insurance market, that grew half as much as UNIQA (final data 2007 for Serbian insurance market are no yet published).

The Chairman of the Management Board at UNIQA osiguranje, Zoran Visnjic: “We are extremely satisfied with our results in 2007. We have achieved the highest growth on the market and we have fulfilled our plans on both top and bottom line. We are committed to further development of new products and distribution channels. Besides growing our market share, our main goal is focusing on our clients and becoming a leader in the area of customer service and loyalty”.

The highest growth rates have been recorded, according to preliminary data, in health/accident and property insurance, with an increase of over 100%. Also, life insurance portfolio has achieved the growth of 55% during 2007. The Company has also started selling motor insurance at the end of 2007.

UNIQA became the first insurance company in Serbia that successfully separated the operations of its life and non-life business during 2007, in line with the regulations of the National Bank of Serbia.

Some of the major activities planned for 2008 are introduction of the comprehensive private health insurance solutions, further development of the preferred partnership with Raiffeisen bank and introduction of insurance solutions for leasing companies.
