UNIQA achieves 37% premium growth in the Ukraine

According to preliminary figures, the Ukrainian companies of the UNIQA Group Austria increased their premium volume over the past year by more than 37% to EUR 37 million. For the entire Ukrainian insurance market, analysts expect a growth rate for 2007 of “only” 24% (official data is not yet available).

UNIQA already acquired 26% of the property insurer Credo-Classic in 2006, taking over significant management and controlling duties at that time. In the meantime, the Credo Classic holding has been expanded to over 60%, the integration into the UNIQA Group has advanced and extensive sections of the product range have been modernised in the course of an intensive exchange of know-how. A separate life insurance company, UNIQA LIFE, was also founded last year and began operations in autumn.

Yuriy Yefimov, CEO of Credo-Classic: “The above-average growth over the past year proves that the modernisation of the product range fully met the needs of customers and that we are on the right path with the restructuring measures initiated and expansion of our sales channels. In the coming months, we would like to concentrate above all on intensifying the cooperation with Raiffeisen Bank Aval and the "Preferred Partnership" that unites UNIQA and Raiffeisen in order to strengthen this relationship in the Ukraine as well. After all, the potential of this cooperation encompasses more than 4.3 million bank customers, and the value of UNIQA’s years of experience with this partnership in 14 European countries should also not be underestimated.”

In addition to the headquarters in Kiev, UNIQA has a comprehensive network of 70 branches in the Ukraine. At the end of 2007, as many as 185,000 policies were already being managed – two thirds of these are private customers who are served by 700 employees.
