Martin Zácek (42) studied at the Technical University in Prague. He joined the insurance industry in 1994. He was deputy chairman of the Management Board of UNIQA in Prague, initially as Finance Director and most recently in the position of Actuarial Director. “I am taking over an excellently functioning company from Marek Venuta, which again grew by more than the market average, despite a stagnating Czech insurance market. My objective is to continue the modernisation of the product landscape in the coming months and years, as well as the dynamisation of projects intended to support the organic growth and expansion of our sales channels.”

Zácek is married and has two daughters. He is very active in his free time. He enjoys sports, especially running, skiing and cycling. His interests also include European history and foreign languages.

Marek Venuta (64) is leaving at his own request on 30 June 2008, after fifteen years as Chairman of the Management Board of UNIQA pojistovna. He will provide considerable support to and drive forward the Private Health Insurance in Central and Eastern Europe project with his long-standing experience, in-depth market and industry knowledge.

Marek Venuta is married and father to two daughters. He spends most of his free time as an active sportsman. His favourite activities include tennis and running. He reads widely, especially historical literature and documents.
