Werner Holzhauser seen as successor

Elisabeth Stadler moves from UNIQA to the top of ERGO Austria

Elisabeth Stadler is to leave the UNIQA Group at the end of October. She will do so at her own request and on good terms with the UNIQA Supervisory Board. Born in Lower Austria in 1961, she is moving to ERGO Austria (Bank Austria Versicherung, Victoria-Volksbanken Versicherung, …).

It is envisaged that Werner Holzhauser will take over her responsibilities. Holzhauser has worked within the UNIQA Group since 1997 and has been a member of the Management Board of UNIQA subsidiary FinanceLife, which specialises in unit and index-linked life insurance, since 2003 (Chairman of the Management Board since 2007). Since 2008, he has additionally been responsible for the entire life insurance line of the UNIQA Group.

Stadler began her professional career in 1983 as an actuary at the former Bundesländer-Versicherung. After holding various positions in the area of life insurance, she was appointed to the Management Boards of UNIQA Personenversicherung and Raiffeisen Versicherung in 2003.

Says Elisabeth Stadler, “I have spent the past 26 years of my career in the present-day UNIQA Group and have therefore experienced and been able to help shape the development of a pure Austrian insurance company into a European player. This fact, and especially the many staff who have supported me on this long journey, have not made my decision to move an easy one. Ultimately, though, the attractiveness of my new task of managing the company prevailed.”

UNIQA CEO Konstantin Klien comments: “Elisabeth Stadler is not only a highly qualified expert in the field of life insurance. She has also always managed to combine management skills with social competence. I understand her decision to take up this new challenge, because it will allow her to take the next logical step in her career.”
