LIVING BETTER TOGETHER

For a sustainable future

the UNIQA Group wants to achieve net-zero emissions by2050.

Sustainability

At UNIQA, we firmly believe that working together towards a sustainable future is essential to safeguarding the well-being of our society and our planet. Our guiding principle, ‘living better together’, inspires us to take responsibility not only for our customers but also for future generations.

That is why UNIQA has been pursuing a strategic, evidence-based and long-term approach to sustainability for many years. As a member of the Green Finance Alliance (GFA), UNIQA has set itself the target, as part of a Transition Plan , of achieving net-zero emissions in Austria in its insurance business and operational operations by 2040, and across the Group in all core business areas by 2050. UNIQA is committed to the 1.5-degree target of the Paris Agreement.

Net-zero emissions

Net-zero emissions are defined on the one hand as the best possible reduction of operational greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1, 2 and 3) to zero or to a residual level that is compatible with achieving net-zero emissions at global or sectoral level in corresponding scenarios or sector pathways within the framework of the Paris climate target pathway. On the other hand, net-zero emissions are definded as the neutralisation of all residual emissions by the net zero target year and all greenhouse gas emissions released into the atmosphere thereafter.

Sustainability reporting

In 2025 UNIQA published a "(Consolidated) Non-Financial Report" in accordance with the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Disclosure) and the ESRS (European Sustainability Standards) for the first time, which is anchored in the UNIQA Group Report.

The current "(Consolidated) Non-Financial Report" is available here:
